Comment on Can I still get into the School of American Ballet (SAB)? by Melissa

Is anybody listening?? I have no idea how to post a question, so help me!!!! Since nobody is listening, might as well vent out to you all. So lets get started! There is this HOT, NICE, SWEET, SENSITIVE guy in my class named Tanner. But he likes my best friend, who is gorgeous, and is loved by all of the guys. She is so lucky! Also, because I do not have a boyfriend, I have been having the urge to kiss someone passionately! Also, I want to be loved. My BFF has three guys at least who like her, I have none. Any advice to get Tanner? (my friend does not like him by the way) Thanx!

Comment on help with pirouettes by Samantha

Another thing to do when turning is too stay in passe. Do not bring you foot down from passeuntil you are ready to land the turn, it really helps. I'm 15 and I've been having trouble with this too, but I have found that this reallly reallly helps!

Comment on how to be better by Tifffyy

heyy:) ive been dancinqq since i was 2 and now im ten. im about to qo en pointe. ivee tried different schools, and they've put me in the wronqq levels. some times some people would think im either a show off or a suck. When you dance, dont think about them!!! A way to get better extensions is to qet your hips felxible. qet into a "froqq" postition, and stay there for ATLEAST 30 seconds. that made me aLot more flexibe. PS. who cares what they think? we're all different. some people are born with flexiblity. Just dance with your soul and heart, relaxx. :)

Comment on how to be better by Rachel

I have been dancing for six years now, and am on pointe. I find that using a TheraBand really helps me with the arches of my feet. For better extensions do developes (sp?) and hold them for a while on each side. P.S.: Don't worry about not being the best in your dance class! Every dancer has something that they need to practice more because they have different body types and different levels. Just be confident. :)

Comment on What should I do? by Elliee

in my opinion.DON'T watch videos or online courses. switch to a dance studio that gives classes for your age group. there's tons of them. or you can take beginner classes with younger kids.

Comment on how to be better by Elliee

i started dance about a year ago. & im already on pointe so don't worry if people tell you, your not a good dancer. to help your arch , bend & mold your feeet with your hands. & always turn out so they look like they have a bigger arch.<3 (:

Comment on Can I still get into the School of American Ballet (SAB)? by Melissa

Another thing to add to my previous comment, SAB is a supper hard school to get into. It only accepts 25 students from around the world. A great intensive to go to is the Rock Ballet School. I was just accepted! <3 It is easy to get into, and once you get it, your studio will see how dedicated you are, and put you en pointe.

I've been dancing since i was 2, and know im 12, i'm on my way to dancing professinally , i would say pay attention to your teacher, everything she corrects you on , make it better, in prove, have a correction pad, and write down all your mistakes . Remeber dance with your heart NOT your mind!, I live ; breathe ; dance! But thats what makes me who i am todayy(:

Comment on Is the ballet bible for real or is it some scam? by Nadia

Hi anita! I want to deeply thank you because of all the help you are giving to balletinas all over the world! I love dancing!! I danced since I was 4 until I was 12 but I could not afford ballet classes anymore so I had to leave it, 3 months ago I decided to restart dancing so I started working for that but since I live in Bolivia what I earn is basically not enough so I can´t afford to buy The 3 Simple Rules of a Prima Ballerina eventhough you are offering it at such a low price... you see Bolivia is a very poor country, I work everyday 7 hours and I make 100$ month and I´ve been acepted in the " instituto nacional del arte" argentina and I´ll be going by february so basically I don´t want to be the worse in my class and as a baillarina who started late, you would understand how helpfull would be to have the ballet bible... so I´m asking if you please could make an exception for me... I know you´ll understand and I´m saying thank you just for reading this! and I´m sorry to take a little of your time but I figured it has never hurt anybody to try. THANK YOU SO MUCH nadia.

Comment on Late starter -Can I ever be good? by Maura

Well, I just started ballet this year and I went straight to pointe. I do recommend ankle strenghtening though. Try a class, if you don't like it- try private lessons!

Comment on Can I go on pointe? by Maura

I started lyrical at age 12 and then at age 13 I decided to go onto pointe even though I didn't take formal ballet. I have been doing great with it but I do encourage ankle strengthening! Good luck! By the way, I am five foot and I weigh ninety-four pounds. With pointe shoes though, I wear Gaynor Minden's.

Comment on WHAT IS THE BALLET BIBLE!?!? by Mimi

Comment on Ten things you should do if you do not want to improve your ballet, or the art of being negative! by Mel

Omg that was classic! I absolutely loved it! To the people who think it is stupid, you must have absolutely no sense of humour. It's easy to see that the author was being original, creative, and FUNNY.

Comment on Turnout by Melissa

My teacher said a great way to work on your turn out is to do froggy, and butterfly. Good Luck! <3 Melissa

Comment on Pointe Please by Melissa

Some studios have a pointe age requirement, and some are by strength. I went en pointe after three years, so it depends. Talk to your teacher. Good Luck! <3 Melissa
